TPCA officially unveiled the 12 projects sponsored through TPCA’s grant program Partnership for the Kolín region
The Kolín car manufacturer, TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën, organized a gala evening for representatives from the 12 winning projects and the general public. Projects from the area of the environment, safe transport and mutual co-existence were presented. It was held at the Municipal Theatre in Kolín for the occasion of the ninth year of the grant program TPCA Partnership for the Kolín region. The company President Kenta Koide gave away financial grants in a total amount of 4,000,000 crowns to the non-profit organizations.
"Protection of the environment is very important to the carmaker. For us it means to ensure the production of environmentally friendly, eco-conscious vehicles and educated employees, "said Kenta Koide, president of the company. "I am also glad that thanks to the grant program we have been able to for the past nine years go beyond the limits of the car manufacturer. Together with you - people who care about where they live - we work on projects that improve not only the environment. For locals, we also provide safer roads and plenty of new places where they can meet and spend their time actively. Together, we make our home a better place. Not only for us but also for our children and future generations, "he concluded his speech
The gala evening was primarily an opportunity for local residents, who had a unique opportunity to become familiar with the promising projects that could apart from the judges also express their opinions through the facebook page TPCA Partnership for the Kolín region. The voices of the public have since become an important stimulus for deciding on the distribution of automotive investments in future years.
Since its establishment in 2005, TPCA has received almost 800 applications. The car manufacturer has financially supported 160 of them and by a total amount of 36 million crowns. The majority, 45% of sponsored applications are applications for projects focused at mutual co-existence. The environment follows with 29 % and safe transport at 26%.
"We also want to develop the region in the arts and beautify public space. Therefore, we addressed major international artists and budding regional filmmakers and together with them we are preparing an international festival of modern art TPCArt or Kolín as a gallery for September of this year. The climax will be the opening of the open-air gallery with an exhibition of sculptures made of parts used to manufacture our cars. During the festival, you can look forward to a graffiti jam – art in an underpass, art workshops, lectures and accompanying group show of young emerging regional artists, "said Radek Kňava, the carufacturer’s spokesman.
The festive program included performances by the jazz and dance band the Kolín Big Band with special guest Peter Vondráček. Proceeds from the symbolic CZK 50 ticket will be donated to people affected by floods in Kolín.
