Domestic sales of TPCA cars increased by one-third

Revenues declined by 14%

Kolin carmaker TPCA, a joint venture of Toyota Motor Corporation and PSA Peugeot Citroën, today announced financial results for the past year. With a total number 1,180 of sold vehicles TPCA achieved a record result in 2012 in the Czech Republic. Year by year it is a 30% increase. TPCA revenues in last year fell by 14% to 34 billion 158 million crowns. Profit before taxation amounted to almost 320 million crowns, which is 50 million less than in 2011. Lower turnover and sales were mainly caused by a drop in demand in European markets.

"Despite the difficult situation in the automotive market, we managed to maintain good financial results despite the expected decline in European demand for our products. The year by year output reduction is caused mainly due to instability of the European market in recent years, "says company president Kenta Koide.

2012: Sales record in the Czech Republic

Last year TPCA produced 215,000 cars models as Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1, of which 1180 cars accrue for the Czech Republic. Domestically, there was a 30% increase. Since 2009 there was an overall increase of 323 cars.

In the domestic market there was the biggest interest in Toyota Aygo, of which the  last year sale was 517 pieces, a year by year is 108% increase. Regarding the sales was the most successful month for this model November (56 pieces). The second position with 57% increase of registrations ranks Citroën C1, of which was sold 463 pieces. The greatest demand for the model was in February, when was sold 92 cars. The registrations of vehicle Peugeot 107 stopped at 200 pieces. The strongest month was September with a total of 33 sold cars.

The Kolin carmaker produces from more than 95% for European countries. The Czech cars produced in TPCA last year were the best sold in the UK (22%). Followed by France and the Netherlands, both with 15%. The five of the largest market is closed by Italy and Germany, again with the same share of 10% of the total last year production. TPCA products are shipped to total of fifty countries from South America, Africa through Europe to Scandinavia, Asia to Indonesia. The major destination countries for TPCA cars outside the EU are South Africa and Israel, followed by Russia and Ukraine.

Suppliers

The Czech carmaker TPCA takes parts and components for its models 107, C1 and Aygo from a total of more than two hundred suppliers. The largest volume of deliveries belongs to the Czech Republic (79%), Poland (16%), Europe* and Japan (5%). According to the geographical distribution, the first rung goes to the Central Bohemian Region (55%), followed by South-East Bohemia (29%), Northeast Bohemia (8%), Southwest Republic (5%), Northwest Republic (2%), and Central Moravia-Silesian Region (1%).

A significant anniversary

 Last year TPCA experienced an important milestone in its history. Ten years have passed from the laying of the foundation stone of the factory. Also successfully opened a serial production of innovative Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 models. In February drove from the production line a jubilee two millionth car. It was a five-door Peugeot 107 in blue metallic plum color. The car was officially handed over to Mr. Vít Rakušan, a Kolin Mayor, who passed it to the Kolin Municipal Library. The car is used for books deliveries to elderly and immobile citizens of the region.

Kolin region development

 In the area of social responsibility the carmaker supports social and cultural events in the region. Since 2004, through a grant program TPCA Partnership for Kolin region were supported 140 projects from 700 received applications by an amount of nearly 40 million crowns. At the end of February the carmaker announced already the ninth year of the grant program, which like every year, support by a total amount of 4 million crowns. The financial support goes mainly to the long-term projects developing the region. The goal of the program is an area of safe transport, mutual coexistence and the environment. Besides the grant program has TPCA also tools to support actions, to its organization are employees involved to. The company is also a major partner of the most famous cultural events of the region and the best sports clubs. Overall devoted the region development more than 95 million crowns.
