TPCA’s priority for 2008: the employees
Today, the Kolín-based car manufacturer TPCA has presented its visions for this year, which will bear the sign of continuous improvements. The strategy will focus on human resources, as well as manufacturing and protection of the environment. „TPCA went through another successful year and exceeded the planned capacity of 300,000 cars produced in one year. The record results were achieved thanks to various improvements to organization of manufacturing and thus minimized delays,“ said Nicolas Guibert, the executive vice-president of TPCA. „A result of more than 300,000 manufactured cars is expected for this year as well,“ Guibert added.
The plant’s management announced that in the year 2008 TPCA is focused on people and improvement of the working conditions. „In this year, we will focus on the field of employee care, including care outside the plant. For example, we are preparing above-standard medical care for our employees,“ said Yasuhiro Takahashi, the president of TPCA.
The conditions of work in TPCA will also improve due to an increase of wages by 7 percent from April 1, 2008. The above is contemplated in the collective agreement concluded between TPCA and the labor unions on March 4, 2008. The average salary for the lowest labor job role is CZK 21,500. Moreover, the employee will get CZK 2,000 in the benefit system (CZK 1,000 per month after staying with TPCA for one year). Furthermore, the offer of employee benefits and services available to the employees under the system of benefits will be extended in this year.
Another point of TPCA’s focus in this year concerns protection of the environment. In the recent years, the factory planted 30 thousand trees and bushes in its vicinity, which will significantly contribute to protection of the environment around the car plant. A thorough system of waste management supporting waste recycling plays an important role in minimizing environmental impacts. In 2008, there will be projects concerning use of renewable sources of energy. The roof of our plant will be covered by solar panels used for heating water. This measure will lower the consumption of natural gas, as well as greenhouse gas emissions. In the autumn of 2007, TPCA has installed a recuperating unit on the roof of the weld shop, which uses waste heat-to-heat fresh air intakes to specific operations.
