TPCA’s production five percent up
The Kolín-based car manufacturer TPCA has produced 308,478 of Toyota Aygos, Peugeot 107s and Citroën C1s in the last year. Compared to the 293,650 cars manufactured in the year before, the annual increase of production exceeds five percent. The three models are equally represented in the total number of produced cars. Therefore, 105,276 Toyota Aygos, 104,466 Peugeot 107s and 98,736 Citroën C1s have left the manufacturing lines of the plant in the last year.
Two thirds of production concerned the five-door version. The most popular color of the year 2007 was red, with black models right behind. The third most widely used color was silver.
„Our cars achieve great sales. They are particularly successful in Western European markets, but there are more and more on the Czech roads as well, which fact I find very pleasing,“ said Yasuhiro Takahashi, the company’s president. „Our success came true only due to the outstanding work of our employees. I believe that we will achieve similar results in the upcoming year and will thus satisfy the growing demand for our small and environment-friendly cars,“ Takahashi added.
In addition to quality of the production, TPCA also emphasizes environment-friendly manufacturing. It employs the most environment-friendly technology available, as confirmed by the BAT (Best Available Techniques) certificate, and it has also passed the environmental protection management certification according to EN ISO 14001:2004 standards. In 2007 the company and its employees have planted more than 26 thousand trees and bushes in the plant's area, and installed a recuperating unit, which uses waste heat. Moreover, the company focuses on thorough sorting and consequent recycling of waste.
