TPCA Automobile plant produced half-million cars

23.04.2007

The 500,000th car of the TPCA Kolin plant came off their assembly line today. The anniversary car was a red five-door Toyota Aygo 1.0 with a petrol engine and manual transmission. Shortly before this momentous happening, a blue Citroen C1, number 499,998 came off the line followed by a yellow Peugeot 107, number 499,999.

In order to reach the half-million mark, the plant needed exactly 26 months from the day of its inception, March 2005. Everything went smoothly according to plan and last year they reached their projected volume of producing 300,000 automobiles.

“Acknowledgement for this achievement belongs primarily to our employees. This is proof that our future is very promising. We are constantly strengthening our position as a strong player in the Czech Republic’s automobile industry. We would soon like to become the best European automobile plant from the standpoint of quality,” stated TPCAs President, Yasuhiro Takahashi.

The distinguishing features of TPCA’s small town cars are their economical engines, low consumption and emission limits, which meet EU standards. Most of the production output is bound for countries other than the Czech Republic.
