Today, the one thousandth employee joined the TPCA (Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile) company. He is one of 108 new employees, who walked through the TPCA gate on the first of September 2004.

The TPCA manufacturing company shall employ a total of 3,000 employees and is the largest employer in the region. Recruitment has taken place gradually according to the start of production shifts: the first shift will start operations in the first quarter of next year, the second shift in June and the third shift in September 2005, when it will achieve its full capacity. .

Presently, there is a focus on the recruitment of production workers, who should amount to 2319. Foremen, masters and office workers are already at full capacity. Most employees are recruited from nearby regions: Kolín, Pardubice, Nymburk, Kutná Hora.

TPCA is a joint venture between Toyota and PSA Peugeot Citroën and the largest investment on a green field in the Czech Republic. The total investment of the project amounted to TPCA 1.5 billion euro. The start of production of new Toyota, Peugeot and Citroën vehicles are scheduled for the first quarter of 2005. The production capacity of the factory will be 300,000 cars per year.
