TPCA adjust shift system valid from May

Kolin based car manufacturer TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën plans changes in the shift system from this May. New working calendar requires the change from three current teams into two. Starting in May the change will affects around 150 temporary workers and workers with time limited contract. The automaker this year, according to current estimates, will produce 221 ​​000 cars.

"We need to respond flexibly and adapt production to demand of small cars in European markets. At this moment we do everything what we can do to minimize impacts to our permanent employees. Their experiences and knowledge of manufacturing processes is highly appreciated. For those who do not have position in the production we are looking for another assignment, "said Satoshi Tachihara, president of the company.

TPCA this year successfully started a serial production of facelifted models of Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 that thanks reducing of emissions below 100 g CO ² per km overcome magical limit and gain an important competitive advantage. The main markets are, as in previous years, France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain and Holland.

Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA) is a joint venture of Toyota Motor Corporation and PSA Peugeot Citroën, built in 2002 in the industrial zone of Kolin - Ovčáry. Production began in February 2005 and the following year reached the planned annual capacity of 300,000 cars. TPCA currently employs nearly 3,000 persons.
