TPCA’s grant project has 18 winning projects

23.06.2011

This year 18 projects were selected for the grant program where TPCA divided four million crowns between them. The original intention was to encourage fewer but larger projects. New in this year's grant program was an opinion poll for employees and the public to decide on which project to support, however, TPCA shall support all 18 projects presented. The TPCA Grant Committee read through 104 applications this year. They included projects of non-profit organizations seeking a total of 37.5 million.

"The TPCA Grant Committee evaluated projects based on several criteria. Our intention was to promote more projects this year that would significantly improve the situation of traffic safety, environmental protection and community life in Kolín. We found the best applications particularly among the smaller and medium sized projects. On the website we published the 18 best evaluated projects and we were very interested to know which projects will be preferred by the public and which by the employees . According to the survey we then compiled a final list of winners of this year's grant program and allocated the amount for the grants, " says Vadim Petrov, General Manager of the Business Affairs department .

This year the grants for individual priorities are balanced. We will distribute 1.4 million among four projects in the safe transport priority. The second priority by amount of funding will be allocated to the environment. Five projects will be awarded just less than 1.4 million. Mutual co-existence has nine projects for $ 1.2 million.

Thousands of people as employees or the public were involved in voting for the best project and the interest exceeded the carmaker’s expectations. The total votes sent in were 6422, 3794 from the public and 2628 from the employees. The project to win the most votes was installing slowing down traffic lights in Kolín, which received 2479 votes. Information about other supported projects are at www.partnerstviprokolinsko.cz.
