The Kolín car manufacturer, TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën, is revealing the interesting points of domestic and international art as part of the international festival TPCArt or Kolín as a gallery to the public. The festival focuses on contemporary art in public space, i.e. street art, large-format murals and graffiti. However, paintings, photographs, sculptures and other works of art will not be forgotten. On Monday, September 9th, a workshop for parents with children called Try To Create started. The municipal community centre in Kolín hosts them until Wednesday, September 11th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. TPCArt is also giving a lecture on modern art in a public space as part of the educational program. It is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10th from 7 p.m. at GASK in Kutná Hora and will be lead by the respected professor of art history, Dušan Brozman.

TPCArt or Kolín as a gallery has also prepared another cultural experience for the public, the workshop Try To Create, that will begin on Monday September 9th and reveal and develop children’s talent. "Preschool and school-age children can come with their parents to create original works as collages, which will be focused on nature and linked to it," says Monika Koťarová, coordinator of the festival. "The little ones will also find creative work on large-format murals that will uncover their perception of the environment in which they live and play," said Koťarová.

The art workshops offering three stands and three different artistic directions can be found at the Kolín’s Community Centre on Zámecká Street.

The lecture titled Modern Art in Public Spaces lead by the Professor of Art History from the University of Western Bohemia in Pilsen, Dušan Brozman, will be held on Tuesday, September 10th  from 7 p.m. The lecture shall take place at the Central Bohemian Gallery - GASK in Kutná Hora and the audience will gain a closer understanding to street art from its inception to present.

He has organized a number of exhibitions of post-war Czech and Slovak art not only for us or our neighbours’, but also overseas. He has published several publications, monographs, organized countless discussions. He studied and worked in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and Switzerland.

The international festival of modern art TPCArt or Kolín as a gallery shall become a unique meeting place for cultures of different nations and a fun place where generations from the youngest to the oldest will find many activities in the rich program. The culmination of it will be the unveiling of four sculptures made from materials used to manufacture TPCA cars. The statues will be introduced by their creators on Saturday, September 14th in the Kolín park above lost lane. A rich accompanying program for visitors young and old will be prepared where the actual unveiling will be accompanied by a fire show that is planned after dark.
