TPCA made nearly 300 thousand cars in a year

10.01.2011

Last year, TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën manufactured a total of 295,712 of its Toyota Aygos, Peugeot 107s and Citroën C1s. In 2010, TPCA produced the jubilee vehicle with number 1 500 000. It was in the middle of May and TPCA have manufactured from SOP in February 2005 totally 1,658,437 cars till the end of last year. Similarly to the past years, the company will publish its economic results in March.

“In 2010, we were forced to respond flexibly to fluctuating market demand. At the beginning of the year, our production was still two percent above the level of the year before. On the contrary, we saw a decrease in demand in the second half of the year,” says the carmaker’s president Satoshi Tachihara. “In the two preceding years, our production exceeded the originally planned capacity of 300 thousand cars. The demand in 2008 and 2009 was under heavy influence of scrapping incentives introduced in many countries of Western Europe, which are key markets for our company,” Satoshi Tachihara added. TPCA exports its small city cars with low consumption of fuel mainly to France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

1,658,437 cars in total have left the gates of the Kolín-based carmaker since the start of production in February 2005.
