Monday 14 June 2010 has seen a ceremony of the Kolín-based carmaker TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën, announcing projects selected for support in this year’s TPCA Partnership for Kolín Region grant programme. Of the record 106 applications received, the carmaker’s grant commission chose 17 projects. Similarly to the recent years, the company allocated a total of 4 million koruna among the winning projects. TPCA’s executive VP, Bernard Million-Rousseau, handed over symbolic cheques to representatives of the successful applicants.

„Congratulations to your success in our sixth annual grant programme. I do very appreciate what you do for the region and wish you a lot of success in your efforts,“ said TPCA’s executive VP to the present winners. „I am also pleased to see us build long-term partnerships and thus this occasion is not the first time for me to meet some of this year’s successful applicants,“ the VP added.

Choosing the winner projects was particularly difficult this year. There were twice as many applications as the year before, and the quality and diversity of projects improves as well. Eventually, the grant commission chose seven projects emphasizing the environment, six with a focus on living together and four supported projects aim at improving safety of traffic.

„We wish to seek other ways of funding for projects that failed to fit into this year’s grant programme, though being very thorough and prepared. We will cooperate further with the selected applicants, consulting on their project ideas,“ promises Petr Steklý, director of the civic association Prostor, which administers TPCA’s grant programme.
