04.01.2010

Management of the Kolín-based car manufacturer TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën changes as of 1 January 2010. Starting with the New Year, the joint venture of two global carmakers, Toyota Motor Corporation and PSA Peugeot Citroën, now has a new president. The former president of the company, Mr. Yasuhiro Takahashi, returns to the parent company Toyota after more than three years and will be replaced in the office by Mr. Satoshi Tachihara.

Satoshi Tachihara was born in October 1955 in Chiba prefecture in Japan. He graduated in economics from Keio University, Tokyo and has joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1979, soon after graduation. His career started in the IT division, where focused on information systems of Toyota’s sales network in Japan. After that Satoshi Tachihara was in charge of preparing and launching a manufacturing plant in the United States, in Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia. For the recent 12 years, he has been directing Toyota’s joint-venture projects, including the joint venture with PSA Peugeot Citroën - TPCA Czech for 5 years, which he thus knows to the very detail. Satoshi Tachihara is married and has two children.

In his new appointment, Satoshi Tachihara plans to employ his expertise gained with projects of Toyota and other manufacturers. „I have spent 24 years in the area of Toyota’s business planning activities, half of which in joint-venture projects. The basic prerequisite of success is open communication and mutual understanding of the three main parties, i.e. the parent companies, TPCA and the region we operate in,“ says TPCA’s new president.

Yasuhiro Takahashi returns to the parent company Toyota Motor Corporation, and will exchange the office of the director of European joint-venture projects with Mr. Tachihara.
