TPCA with new Preventive Health Care Center
Starting today, employees of the Kolín-based car manufacturing plant TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën can benefit from the brand new Preventive Health Care Centre. It is located in the plant’s area and also provides space for the company’s in-house physicians, whose office no longer satisfied the needs of the carmaker. The main impulse for modernizing and expanding the centre was however the company’s plan to offer its employees with the most recent procedures in physiatry and new physiotherapeutic services.
The prevention centre can be found within the area of TPCA’s plant and the cost of building it amounted to more than 11,5 million koruna. „According to our corporate philosophy, prevention is very important and it is in our primary focus. Timely identification of possible health problems and subsequent physiotherapy are essential. It also includes programmes for new employees, as well as programmes for employees returning to work after a long term absence,“ Yasuhiro Takahashi, president of the company, comments on the purpose of the new preventive health care centre.
New centre bringing wide options for both prevention and treatment
TPCA pays extreme attention to physiatry. Until now, employees had the chance to benefit from existing equipment, such as an ultrasound device, rebox or an electrotherapeutic unit. New equipment in the opened centre includes laser, magnet, whirlpools (for legs and arms), heat therapy, lymphatic drainage, or shockwave. The equipment is used by modern physiatric facilities and wellness centres. In total, the offer of treatment procedures now consists of six physiatric programmes more.
Physiotherapy
Physical therapy and three medical programmes are brand new. The programmes include a program for newly recruited employees, for employees returning after long-term absence and fitness practices. The room is equipped with fitness units primarily intended for physiotherapeutic programmes. The gym will available to other employees as part of the fitness programmes, which are being prepared and will be available at the beginning of 2010.
Health being an important part of employee care
In TPCA, caring for employees’ health is very important. The company has therefore prepared the Healthy Employee concept, including various projects ranging from superior medical care, to annual preventive programmes, to the new project of this year – the healthy eating project. The company organizes preventive programmes focused on specific topics for its employees, as well as internal campaigns, such as a campaign aimed at quitting smoking. The so-called month of health has been established a tradition in TPCA already. During October, employees have the opportunity to undergo various preventive examinations, while receiving bonuses in the form of free sport and relaxation activities. Furthermore, they can obtain free flu vaccination, serving as prevention against announced flu epidemics. A medical centre has been opened in the area of the hospital of Kolín last year already. Members of employees’ families can also benefit from the services of the local general practitioner and dentist.
