TPCA donate the region in total amount 4 000 000 CZK

TPCA Toyota Peugeot Citroën in cooperation with foundation Nadace Partnerství has closed the fifth annual grant programme Partnership for Kolín region. Under the programme, the company supports development of the region of Kolín with CZK 4,000,000 every year.

This year, similarly to the recent years, the priorities included safe traffic and the environment. With its new priority named development of the region, TPCA aimed at supporting projects with ambitions for acquiring money from European funds, and projects of organizations focused on work with preschool children. The programme’s independent commission has selected 19 successful projects from the total of 60 applications. In safe traffic, the grant programme will support five projects for CZK 1,582,500. Five projects focusing on protection of the environment will share CZK 913,000, while nine projects aimed at preschool activities and applications for European subsidies were awarded CZK 1,504,410 in total.

This year, TPCA will support for example construction of playgrounds in Kolín, a cycleway around Kutná Hora, family centre operation, preparation of submittals for reconstructing a community centre building to be financed by EU funds, development of non-government organizations in the region of Kolín, environmental programme for the visitors of a maternity centre, safety of traffic at a blind part of a road, or several interesting projects of preschools.

In total, TPCA donated more than 70 million koruna to benevolent projects in the region of Kolín. In addition to its grant programme Partnership for Kolín region, it allocates funds under its Employee sponsoring programme, awarding projects involving the plant’s employees. Furthermore, TPCA is the main sponsor of the basketball club of Kolín and various traditional cultural events in the region.

Overview of projects supported in 2009

Adventurous route of little Dobeš – CZK 274,500
The project will contribute to a safe walkway for children to get to their school at Žehuň. The main objective of the project is continuing in activities related to the Celtic Museum, the Celtic Oppidum, and new cycleways. The project will create an educational adventurous path with 12 stops along the river Cidlina.

Way along Polepka II – CZK 299,000
Continuing the walk and cycleway from Polepy to Pašinka. Total length of the planned surface – 1330 m will serve for safe movement for recreation or to get to work, moreover connected with information about the surrounding natural points of interest.

Educational cycleway around Kutná Hora – CZK 254,000
The aim of the project is to build a 25 km long educational path with a cycleway near Kutná Hora, which will provide inhabitants and visitors of the city with a chance of spending free time by relaxing, while getting to know the surroundings from the point of view of history, zoology, botany and geology.

Light fort the zebra at Veletov – CZK 355,000
The project will increase safety of children along the road from Kolín to Týnec nad Labem. As part of the project, two lamps will be installed to light the crosswalk and bus stop, two speedometers, and a meeting for school children with an officer of the traffic Police will be held.

Cyclists welcomed in Polabí – CZK 400,000
The project will significantly contribute to successful acquisition of a subsidy from the EU funds and state support for the project of a cycleway. The grant will be used for arranging for complete project documentation for solving a passage under railway and necessary staffing for the entire process of preparations before design works.

Linden trees at Ohaře need to be cured, not chopped down – CZK 200,000
Professional care applied to grown trees will contribute to healthy enlivening of the trees, firming the treetops, all resulting in increased safety of pedestrians. Locals will arrange for consequent care, thus prolonging the life of the trees.

Only the active get it green – CZK 183,340
Joint project from family centers Špalíček and Hvězdička. It concerns support of environmental education of pre-school children and active participation of parents and their children in protection of the environment in day-to-day life.

There is more than sorting… – CZK 150,000
This long-term project presents a complex cycle of thirty lectures and six excursions held by lecturers from Czech universities and environmental organizations. It aims at increasing awareness of possibilities and purpose of environment-friendly conduct of inhabitants of the region of Kutná Hora and Kolín.

Biowaste is not waste – CZK 179,750
The objective of the project is to involve academic staff and students of high schools in activities aimed at separation of biological waste in the regions of Kolín and Kutná Hora. 100 students, 10 teachers and other members of academic staff from 5 organizations will take part in the project.

The Czech lands, my home – CZK 200,000
The project emphasizes environmental education and development of environment-friendly lifestyle. It focuses on maintenance and development of an orchard near the village of Ovčáry. Direct participants of the project include children and youth from the childcare home at Býchory.

Information services for NGOs of the Kolín region – CZK 200,000
The project aims at education and support of NGO staff operating in the region supported by TPCA – Kolín, Nymburk, Kutná Hora. NGOs will have the chance to employ the services of professional economic, account and tax consulting.

Zálabí pulls one end of the rope – CZK 200,000
The action group Zálabí was founded in order to develop the region of the Northern bank of Elbe in the region of Kolín. The project aims at improving drawing of funds from national and European resources and coordinating joint projects in the form of a professional manager of the action group Zálabí.

Where is Maják heading? – CZK 195,155
The basic objective of the project is to establish conditions for moving and future operation of the community center Maják in Kutná Hora. Granted funds will be used for financing creation of a project application to the programme ROP Central Bohemia and preparing design documentation for the reconstruction.

Come and play – CZK 138,200
The aim of the project of the school and preschool at Bečváry is to improve the conditions for leisure activities of children by building a new playground in the area of the school’s garden. The school will thus acquire new premises for educational activities of both the kindergarten and elementary school.

Safe garden of preschool Kolín II – CZK 131,168
The school’s capacity is to be increased in September, which will mean more children in the school's garden. It is necessary to add more play elements to make the garden satisfy children’s requirements for games and leisure.

Healthy play in the nature – CZK 191,212
The project concerns refurbishment of an existing room of Jazz Family Center with an opportunity to connect it with the adjacent garden.

Playground and garden – CZK 170,000
The girls’ catholic school in Kolín will be provided a high-quality, safe and modern playground in the school’s garden, to provide barrier-free access to the garden for disabled children and pupils, and to create a small outdoor area for sports, education and rest within the school.

Restoration of a playground – CZK 200,000
Restoration and construction of new play elements of selected playgrounds in Kolín will allow children for longer stays outdoors, promoting healthy lifestyle since the children's early age.

Europeans since kindergarten – CZK 78,675
A project implemented by the preschool of Ohaře, where the director is a successful „eTwinning“ teacher. The grant will increase quality of education and help build a center of communication with European partners, as well as among the villages, from where the kindergarten's children are.
